The Dance Floor Divas  are the latest addition to the GMMS offerings. Based on various ideas that seemed to spiral out of control over previous years, it took the straight thinking of our loyal female vocalist, to try and ultimately push forward the fantastic concept of "Dance Floor Divas" An act that solely focused on  some of the great Divas of our time, and adopting the same enthusiasm, and production techniques that had been applied to WHAM!DURAN and the Ultimate 80's Extravaganza, to pay homage to such greats as Donna Summer, Anastacia, Whitney, and Tina Turner. 

No great girlie night out is complete without the singalong of certain girlie anthems. Those anthems would become the set list, of the Dance Floor Divas. 

As more tracks were being decided upon for performance, so also was the line up. Originally, it was considered that two female vocalists would best front this glitzy show,  but then it seemed that perhaps this was an opportunity to turn this act into something "a bit different"!

Eventually the bullet was bitten. It was decided that  we would recruit a female impersonator and drag queen extraodinare  "Matilda" who we had seen performing previously to sell out audiences, in various guises, as our co -"front woman"! And why not stop there? After all this is The Dance Floor Divas - the very title conjures up a rather  female orientated act, and surely the band ought to reflect this. Not that this was to deflect from the already established and outstanding performance of our regular female vocalist, but was merely going to give the act a bit of a twist, without turning it "twisted"!

This therefore is a glitzy, camp, rather over the top cross dressing kind of a show! It's all very effeminate, and exceptionally good humoured. On a scale of one to ten in the fun department, this one really goes  off the scale!. And because it is a new act, it is still under review from the best critics in town - the audiences. So far the reaction has been incredible. Each performance has been received in the spirit in which it is given. It is supposed to be funny, and it is. It's supposed to be highly entertaining, and again it is. Most of all it is supposed to be a spot on musically, in the same way as the other acts are, and it is with pride we announce that again, it is.

So if your looking for an act with all of those aspects, but also something a bit different, look no further. The Dance Floor Divas have arrived, and we get the feeling this could end up being our most popular act yet!
